Cote (D) on April 4, 2013, to force the taxpayers of Woonsocket to accept a tax increase up to 12.7% on motor vehicles and 4.6% on real estate, up to $2.5 million, as determined by the state Budget Commission currently operating within the town, with no opportunity to stop the increase by any means in state or local law. However, the commission could vary or eliminate the increases for elderly residents. Senate Bill 820.
