Senate Bill 201, RELATING TO INSURANCE -- GENDER RATING
Introduced by Sen. V. Susan Sosnowski (D) on February 6, 2013, to forbid health insurance providers from considering gender when setting premium rates.

Senate Bill 647, RELATING TO FOOD AND DRUGS - UNIFORM CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT
Introduced by Sen. Donna M. Nesselbush (D) on March 6, 2013, to create a state-controlled electronic prescription database storing all information related to electronically distributed medical prescriptions. The legislation also expands the types of prescriptions that may be transmitted electronically.

House Bill 5725, RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS - BOARD OF MEDICAL LICENSURE AND DISCIPLINE
Introduced by Rep. Brian Patrick Kennedy (D) on February 28, 2013, to restrict the interactions that the people of Rhode Island can have with physicians licensed in other states.

Senate Bill 820, RELATING TO TAXATION
Introduced by Sen. Marc A. Cote (D) on April 4, 2013, to force the taxpayers of Woonsocket to accept a tax increase up to 12.7% on motor vehicles and 4.6% on real estate, up to $2.5 million, as determined by the state Budget Commission currently operating within the town, with no opportunity to stop the increase by any means in state or local law. However, the commission could vary or eliminate the increases for elderly residents.

Senate Bill 767, RELATING TO PUBLIC RECORDS - ACCESS TO PUBLIC RECORDS
Introduced by Sen. Hanna M. Gallo (D) on March 13, 2013, to make teacher evaluations private personnel documents that cannot be released to the public.

Senate Bill 29, RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- MEDICAID FRAUD AND WASTE PREVENTION
Introduced by Sen. Elizabeth A. Crowley (D) on January 10, 2013, to screen Medicaid, Rite Care, and Rite Share benefit claims and to analyze all transactions looking for fraudulent or incorrect claims.
